Events by Sarah Megan 2019 in Review

Updated: Apr 11, 2020

Wow, nearing the end of March already. I still can't believe how quickly 2019 went by. It was a great year for Events by Sarah Megan. In 2018, we started with one #wedding and by the end of 2019, we had seven #weddings under our belt, six of them in 2019 alone.

Take a look back with me down memory lane to check out our beautiful couples and great #vendors that we got to work with.

Events by Sarah Megan started off 2019 in May with S&L's lovely wedding at LaSalle Banquet Centre. This gorgeous venue offers neutral colour tones allowing couples to add their own special touch with vibrant pops of colour.

S&L love puns, which became a key piece in their wedding from "Thanks for popping by!" on their popcorn stand to "Lettuce Celebrate". Who doesn't love a good pun?

Anthony Saleh was the talent behind the lens for S&L's wedding. Anthony brought fun and creativity to the bridal photo session. Probably one of my favourite pictures, is the one with the #bride and #groom's shoe looking like they are going step on the bridal party. For #juneweddings, Events by Sarah Megan was happy to be a part of two weddings. First, came M&A's wedding. This wedding had a lot of moving parts and details that needed to be very clear to the vendors involved. The ceremony took place at The 519 in downtown Toronto. This space offered so much character that the only thing M&A added was balloons as the backdrop for their alter.

The reception took place at Granite Brewery. This is a fantastic space if you are having a smaller wedding and looking for something unique. The food and service were fantastic. They also have a great patio space for your wedding ceremony or cocktails.

Alexandra from Baking Up Treble created two stunning cakes for this couple. Both cakes matched the bride's dresses. How awesome is that to have your #weddingcake match your #weddingdress?

3Photography captured this special day. This sister duo was great to work with to ensure they captured all the special details.

Two weeks later came D&S's wedding on a family property in Pickering. This was a stunning DIY tented wedding.

D&S's guests were greeted with a refreshing beverage before heading to the ceremony that overlooked a beautiful wooded area, making it the perfect backdrop for the photos.

Wander North Photography captured this beautiful day of two families becoming one. Emilie had a great eye and provided beautiful photos.

The florals for the day were provided by Sima Flower Designer. The #centerpieces added pops of colour to the reception space. For those of us with a sweet tooth, I highly recommend checking out Sweet Couture Cakes by Adele. Adele provided a few different sized cakes and cupcakes, adding layers to the dessert table.

We are now into August for C&K's lovely #intimatewedding. What made this wedding unique, is that it was the smallest wedding we have participated in so far. Only 12 people!!! Yes, you read that correctly - 12 people. C&K brought Events by Sarah Megan on board to ensure the ceremony ran smoothly and on time, as well as to ensure everything was good to go for their reception.

Charlotte from Rosenlee Photography captured this lovely wedding. One of Charlotte's favourite things about this wedding was that the couple's daughter decided she wanted a swing for the wedding, so her dad built her one. How cute is that?

In August, I was hired by S&S for Month-of Coordination. Pretty much exactly one month before their Lindsay #wedding. The wedding was held on the families property, making it a true family affair. A tent was brought in for dinner, and the barn was used for the ceremony and dancing after dinner. S&S, with their families help, turned the #barn into a beautiful and intimate space. The father of the bride event built a custom bar. The groom's mother made the beautiful wedding cake and #cupcakes.

The talented photographer for this #barnwedding was Mark Ridout from Ridout Photography.

I had so much fun with this wedding. Not only were S&S such a great couple to work with, but their families and bridal party were unbelievably sweet, willing to do anything to ensure that S&S had the best day!

I got to close out the 2019 Wedding Season with D&M's beautiful barn wedding at Polmenna Barn in Campbellford.

The very talented Lisa and Brandon from Streetcar Design Co. captured all the gorgeous details from this special day.

Guests were greeted by a gorgeous backdrop of open fields and gentle horses. D&M incorporated their fur babies as their #ring bearers for the ceremony. Who doesn't love when our furry friends get to be a part of a wedding.

2019 was a unbelievable wedding season. I cannot wait to work with all our 2020 couples!
